FAQ

  • First, download the Sports Checkin app from the Apple Store

    or the Google Play store

    Then create a director account and add your teams. Once your players sign up they are then ready to respond to any Checkin that you create.

  • It takes 10-20 minutes to setup your organization and your teams depending on how many teams you have in your organization. Data is populated for coaches and directors to view as soon as players respond to a Checkin.

  • All you need to provide is your contact details to create an account. As a player you will then answer anonymous questions when your coach or director creates a Checkin. As a coach or director, you setup your team by providing e-mail addresses and then create Checkins after practices, games, or on days off.

  • A coach or director sets up and invites players to join the app and their team. If players are under the age of 13 there are additional parental approvals that need to take place before the player can use the app.

  • Organizations are able to adjust coaching methodologies to better meet the needs of the players resulting in player satisfaction and increased retention. Directors are able to use data as discussion points for coaching development programs.

  • Sports Checkin was developed with any team sport in mind. This could even be individual sports that have a team management component to them like golf or tennis. Anytime sports organizations want to get unbiased feedback from their players it will work for them.

  • Our free version supports 1 team and up to 15 players. Pricing is still in development for larger organizations. If you are interested please contact nathan.pugh@sportscheckin.net

  • Currently the questions are pulled from a list that categorize them as game day, practice day, day off. Questions can be added that are pulled randomly from the list by request but we are not customizing the questions on a per association or per team basis at this time.

  • Association directors and coaches can not identify any of the responses unless a player puts something in a comment field that would identify them.

  • All devices running Android OS 7.0 and newer, and all devices running iOS 10.2 and newer.

  • It would be possible for a parent with an iPad to collect feedback as players are coming off the field or out of the locker room but they would have to login as the different players. The application hasn’t been designed exactly for this type of use case.

  • All personally identifiable information is encrypted and subject to our Privacy Policy statement which can be found here

  • This was designed for youth competitive and recreational athletes. The focus was not specifically for olympic or elite athletes however many of the questions are applicable.

  • The best practice is for directors to discuss the results with their coaches on a regular basis. In turn, coaches would discuss results with their players where necessary. Coaches are able to take the feedback and cater their methods to ensure that they are having the best possible influence on their athletes.

  • Absolutely! This is what the app is all about. The data from Sports Checkin provides discussion points for directors and coaches to have their own ‘checkins’ throughout the season.

  • In order to keep information truthful and unbiased, there are no parent viewing privileges. If parents are concerned about the type of questions the players are being asked we are happy to provide a sample set of what the questions look like.

  • During our beta release, any comments, suggestions, feedback and issues can be addressed by sending an e-mail to support@sportscheckin.net.

  • This could be used outside of sporting environments however the question bank is specifically focused towards youth sports.

  • If a player does not want to participate, they can ignore the invitation to setup their team account. Note that coaches and directors will be able to see which players have not accepted.

  • Sports Checkin LLC, owns all of the information generated from the app, however, an organization will have access to view their data as long as they have an active account.

  • Sports Checkin is currently not able to be deployed on a customer’s instance or on-premises.
